Street art is easily one of the most difficult forms of expression to define. You can say so much, to so many people, simply by making your mark on a local wall. This is likely why it is met with such confusion by people today. Your parents might think it’s vandalism, but we would say that it is perhaps one of the most effective forms of cultural communication today. Our friend Samir– who goes by Evol 1– is a man on a mission to change this perception, taking cues from the fine art world and creating stunning pieces of work that come out looking like a watercolor you would expect to see in a museum.
In this video, Samir visits New York City to paint a portrait of Del the Funky Homosapien, and talks about his creative processes and inspiration.
