This past weekend San Francisco went crazy.  On Saturday they hosted the 2nd Downtown Throwdown, which was at the Civic Center again.  We had a few riders in it: Andrew Brewer, Nial Romanek, & Sammy Spiteri.  Sammy was killing it and then slammed pretty hard and ruined his shoulder.  Andrew got his fingers run over and nearly bled to death but got back up and landed himself on the podium.  Nial was the biggest boss of them all, and did a never before seen in competition rail move:  it was something like a nollie fs 180 to switch nosepress.  …pretty difficult, which the judges rewarded him as the winner.  The next day the SF Giants won the world series too, so everybody in the area had a great time!

Have a look at some of the video footage here:

Snowboarder Magazine’s video; (spoiler alert, at 3:25 there’s an interview with the winner)
