ARNETTE RELEASES NEW GOGGLE WITH DEL THE FUNKY HOMOSAPIEN AS PART OF THEIR UNCOMMON PROJECTS DIVISION

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA – January 24, 2012 – Arnette is bringing the the funk to their Uncommon Projects division with a new snow goggle in a collaboration with the Funkman himself, Del the Funky Homosapien. A limited edition, late release of their Series 3 goggle, the goal was to create the funkiest snow goggle in the lineup for the legendary artist and long time Arnette family member.

The Del x Arnette Uncommon Projects goggle features a repeating Hiero logo on the frame, funkified strap with both the Hiero and Arnette logos, and an aqua chrome lens.

“This is going to look good out on the slopes, Series 3. That's what you SERIously need, some Series 3's. That way you ain't gonna hit no trees, I like these. You’re gonna see me with these on, all me, Series 3. Go get your own,” commented Del.

Arnette’s Uncommon Projects division features signature pieces that tell a unique story, commemorate a partnership or reflect the personal style of one of the company’s notable athletes. The Del x Arnette Uncommon Projects goggle is dropping on the heels of Arnette’s first Uncommon Projects release for the Team Captain of Arnette’s Global Pro Snowboard Team, Devun Walsh.

“Del has been a part of the Arnette family for a long time and he has a serious fan base in the world of snowboarding. There’s no better way to celebrate all of that than with a signature goggle color. The colorway had to meet the highest possible funk-standards, so we developed a graphic that was inspired by some of his early album art, complete with Hiero logo repeat pattern and strap patch," stated Arnette’s Global Brand Director, Joe Freitag.

Arnette Limited Edition Del the Homosapien signature Fire Drill

Arnette has collaborated with Del the Funky Homosapien to bring two Limited Edition signature colorways of the Fire Drill available at Sunglass Hut starting October 20th.

The Del edition of the Fire Drill features a matte black frame that dissolves out into purples on the lower rims and temples. Del’s signature logo is featured on one temple tip and the iconic Hieroglyphics logo gets placement on the other. It’s available with either blue mirror or polarized gray faded lenses.

To celebrate the release of the new Del Fire Drill sunglasses, Arnette and Sunglass Hut will be hosting an in-store meet-and-greet with Del at the Sunglass Hut store in Union Square, San Francisco (170 Geary St., San Francisco) 6p-7:30pm and will be throwing a special product release party at Public Works (161 Erie St., San Francisco) 9pm on Oct. 27th. Del, along with The Souls of Mischief, Casual and Bukue one will be performing LIVE!

X Games Athlete Closing Party Wrap-Up

Summer X Games 17 was a huge success for Arnette on so many levels. We were especially pscyhed on the fact that our very own Ryan Decenzo took home Gold in the Game of SK8 event, and the newest recruit to our MX program, Adam Jones, earned a Silver medal in Moto X Freestyle. To ensure Summer X went out with a bang, last night we were a proud sponsor of the official X Games Athlete Closing Party at LA's Icon Lounge. There were about 500 people in attendance, including Arnette riders Rob Darden, Corey Martinez, Danny Supa and Sage Kotsenburg. Drinks were flowing all night and live music was served up by Del and Machine Gun Kelly.

Everyone had a blast and it was definitely an awesome ending to a rad week in LA! Can't wait for next year...

X Marks The Spot

Pretty much the entire action sports community has flocked to Los Angeles for Summer X Games 17 which kicks off tomorrow, July 28th. Just like every year, it's sure to be an insanely over-the-top smorgasbord of shredding antics and debauchery from all your favorite athletes. Can't wait!

We're stoked to report that four Arnette team riders will be competing this year including Ryan Decenzo (Skateboard Street), Rob Darden (BMX Park), Brian Kachinsky (BMX Street), and new recruit Adam Jones (Moto X Freestyle and Moto X Speed & Style). If you're lucky enough to be in attendance, definitely make sure you cheer on our boys. If not, you can catch all the action from the comfort of your couch.

From July 28th-31st, ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will offer 25 hours of live, HD programming from X Games 17. ESPN3.com will simulcast 23 hours and ESPN 3D will telecast 21 hours of live X Games coverage. That's a heck of a lot of coverage right there folks!

Del Rocks Heavy Hitter Release Party

Thursday night, April 28th, was the official product release party for our newest sunglass the Heavy Hitter.

Held at Cantina Lounge in Fullerton, it was free to get in with drink specials flowin' all night. Del and Bukue One both gave killer live performances and absolutely blew the doors off the place, like they always do! The Arnette fam was in the house including new recruits like surfer Mason Ho and skaters Ryan and Scott Decenzo. Plus, a few lucky partygoers got hooked up with free shades and other exclusive gear autographed by Del.

All-in-all it was an awesome night and everyone had a rad time! The Heavy Hitter is now available nationwide, so keep an eye out at your local shop. Special thanks to Shorescrew and Cantina Lounge.

Heavy Hitter Release Party on April 28th

Arnette’s new Spring 2011 eyewear collection just hit stores, and to celebrate this fact a special product release party will take place Thursday night, April 28th, at Cantina Lounge in Fullerton, CA.

The guest of honor will be Arnette’s new knock-out frame, the Heavy Hitter, which packs a serious style punch!

The party is FREE and will feature LIVE performances by Del, Bukue One, DJ Macavelli and DJ Armpit. Drink specials will be in full effect all night, and a few lucky party goers will get hooked up with free shades and other Arnette gear. Doors open at 9pm and it’s 21+ to get in.

Saturday March 12, Whistler BC, Garfinkels – The roof was officially torn off the joint! The 3rd and final stop of the Arnette Brain Freeze Team Launch Party Tour with Del the Funky Homosapien was nothing less than a full on barn burner. Del’s official DJ, Zac Hendrix, made a special guest appearance and got the crowd open with an eclectic mix of funk and soul, while Bukue One got the crowd warmed up for Sir DZL him self – DEL the Funky Homosapien. With Zac and Bukue backing him up, Del rocked the crowd with classics like Mr. Dobalina, At the Helm, Wack MC’s, and more recent cuts like Get it Right Now off his free Funkman album. The antics didn’t stop there… This party also celebrated Devun’s birthday. With his crew in tow we rolled out the birthday cake just in time for Dustin Cravin to dive into it face first and give Devun a frosting-filled birthday tackle. Cake was flying, FUNK was flowing, Whistler came out in full force to support – Thank you, and see you next time.

Tomorrow night last stop of our official Brain Freeze party tour will be slamming into Garfinkels in Whistler, Canada.

As the official team launch party series, this three-stop tour celebrates the 2011 re-launch of Arnette’s goggle program and newly minted team of snow shredders including Devun Walsh, Zac Marben, Dustin Craven and Sage Kotsenburg.

All three stops will feature live performances by Del The Funky Homosapien and Bukue One, with Arnette Am, DJ Matty Mo, on the turntables. Devun, Zac, Dustin and Sage will be at select stops, and free gear and good times will be flowing for all partygoers.

Brain Freeze party in Mammoth goes haywire!

On Feb 10, Hyde Lounge in Mammoth Village was the backdrop for the second stop of the Arnette Brain Freeze Snowboard Team Launch Party to celebrate our team of Devun Walsh, Sage Kotsenburg, Zac Marben and Dustin Craven. If we thought Del the Funky Homosapien set the bar high in Denver...well then Hyde Lounge took things to an entirely new level. The place was packed wall to wall with a huge group of fans lined up outside waiting to see Sir DZL rock his set. Members of the Arnette AM team came through in full force with Snow Team Ambassador Sticky Shaw leading the charge. Arnette rider DJ Matty Mo got the crowd ready with some classic hip hop bangers, followed by Bukue One and Del, with vinyl connoisseur DJ Zac Hendricks closing the show with a flurry of rare cuts. Like a true man of the people, Del stuck around after his set to chop it up with fans who wanted to share a few words or take a picture. If you were lucky you snagged some of the limited edition swag that got tossed throughout the night. Another amazing event, and thanks to everyone who came out to support Arnette and DEL. Stay tuned for details on our final stop at Garfinkels in Whistler Village on March 12th.

On Thursday night, February 10th, the Arnette Brain Freeze Tour will kick off stop 2 at Hyde Lounge in Mammoth Lakes, California. This party will go down after the last day of the WWSRA On-Snow mountain demo, when everybody is done shredding and ready to rage! After the huge success of the kickoff party in Denver (SIA), we know that this one will be just as fresh.

The first stop of the Brain Freeze launch party tour with the one and only DEL, Sir DZL, the FUNKMAN himself, set the bar high! Denver’s snowboard and hip-hop community came out in force to show support. Devun, Zac and Dustin were all present and kept Beandip busy with the bar tab. DJ Matty Mo, Arnette rider and all around hustler, got the party started by spinning a mix of hip hop staples and party cuts to get the crowd warmed up. Up next was the best rapper+skater+graffiti-writer in the game, Mr. Bukue One, who kept the crowd hyped with his own special mix of hip-hop, comedy, and on-stage skateboarding antics. “Cheese and Butter” had the people chanting and set the stage for long-time Arnette fam member, Del the Funky Homosapien. I’ve been to a lot of hip hop shows (half of them Del shows, and not for Arnette!), and he ALWAYS brings the fire. He performed classics like Mr. Dobalina, Boo Boo Heads and At the Helm, and reminded newbees with a few verses from his work with the Gorillaz. He’s one of the best of all time – your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. I can’t wait for next week’s show in Mammoth.

As the official team launch party series, the three-stop tour celebrates the 2011 re-launch of Arnette’s goggle program and newly minted team of snow shredders including Devun Walsh, Zac Marben, Dustin Craven and Sage Kotsenburg.

All three stops will feature live performances by Del The Funky Homosapien and Bukue One, with Arnette Am, DJ Matty Mo, on the turntables. Devun, Zac, Dustin and Sage will be at select stops, and free gear and good times will be flowing for all partygoers.
