Superpark 17

Snowboarder Magazine’s Superpark 17 returned to Mt Bachelor, and this time we came in full force. Arnette was heavily representing at the “invite only” event, where our riders charged everything in their path: Andrew Brewer, Alek Ostreng, Colt Morgan, Red Gerard, Russell Winfield, Sam Taxwood, Riley Nickerson, Johnny Lazz, Sammy Spiteri, Matty Mo, Zac Marben, Ben Bilodeau, Dustin Craven, Nick Visconti, Nial Romanek, Ben Bogart, Anto Chamberlan, Ethan Deiss, and Niko Cioffi were so on fire the snow was melting behind them.

Since we had such a heavy gang all in one place, we brought our film crew to make an episode for our upcoming MPD Snow video series. More news on that soon, until then here’s a recap from the week-long event, with a silly screen-scribble flare-

Staxwood went so big, he landed out of this picture.

Day 1 video starts off with Sam Taxwood, showing why at the end of the week he was awarded the prestigious “CHARGER” award, & also a clip of Sammy Spiteri with his classic smooth style.

Sam didn't misfire this blaster air.

Like the dinosaurs, Red will grow from all the air he gets. It's just science.

No shirts, no shoes, no service. Sam was spinning so fast he couldn't read that.

Somebody told Riley there was a party at the street scene. He was confused.

Day 2 video featuring Niko Cioffi jumping dangerously close through the rail gaps, Sam Taxwood going huge off the jumps- shirtless, & Red Gerard getting crazy in the air.

Day 3 video featuring Riley Nickerson and Sammy Spiteri hammering the street course, Sam Taxwood doing one of the biggest airs of the week, Ethan Deiss jumping farther off a rail than most kickers and then Spencer Schubert doing a frontblunt pretzel 270 of it too, Zac Marben hitting the big step-up with his perfect style, & Red Gerard stepping up to the bigboy gap.

Day 4 video opening up with a shirtless Spencer Schubert flipping over the stair, Niko Cioffi spinning over a tree, Zac tweaking out a classic Marben method revert, & Dustin Craven going blind over the gap of doom.

Niko Cioffi was up so early getting photos, his party friends were just getting home from the club.

Red Gerard can run to be president of the United States in 23 years.

Sam deserved the CHARGER award. He should charge his friends for a new t-shirt.

Day 5 video featuring a hilarious intro with tall Spencer Schubert & little Red Gerard trading snowboards, then Niko Cioffi, and Red again playing with smokebombs.

Lick The Cat Teaser

Project LTC, the most anticipated snowboard film of the 2012/2013 season is in production. …or not, because the crew just may not have the time to finish it while they’re out riding/instragramming/tanning/creating general tom-foolery. You can be sure that if it does come out, it’ll be the most fun video of the year. Kotsenburg, Taxwood, Schubert, Bilodeau, and their friends are guaranteed to have been caught on camera doing some borderline suspect stuff.

Last week a crew of Arnette snowboard team riders who are all under the age of 21 (Sage Kotsenburg, Sam Taxwood, Broc Waring, Spencer Schubert, Ben Bilodeau, Red Gerard, & Zander Blackmon) went to Snowboarder Magazine’s photoshoot called “The Launch”. Jib Party in Utah Rail Gardens

The Utah Rail Gardens is a legendary spot for urban snowboarding, and becoming a legendary spot for the VG crew to party once a year, sort of. Recently the guys threw together an impromptu session, which Sam Taxwood & Spencer Schubert joined in on. Check out some clips of this loose jib party!

The Launch

Arnette has Snowboarder Magazine's "The Launch" handled (it's an 18 & under photoshoot). We have Red Gerard, Sam Taxwood, Broc Waring, Spencer Schubert, & Zander Blackman all killing it on ever feature, leaving photo and videographers scrambling to focus on them. The magazine's print main feature will be out on the shelves next winter, but here are some select photos from day one. Video and photos from the next couple days will be posted daily on their site.
