Arnette Street Fighter II Tournament Recap

This past Friday, the Arnette Encinitas retail store hosted a great event. We collaborated with Willy Santos to bring a Street Fighter II arcade tournament to the store, as well as open skating in the Arnette parking lot. Wahoo’s catered the event and Boom Headphones provided music.

Those who did not want to skate were able to enter and compete in the SFII tournament for free with the opportunity to win some great prizes! Check out the video re-cap. Willy Santos and Pat Duffy attended and gave the crowd a little skate demo!

Street Fighter II Tournament

Arnette’s first retail store in Encinitas, CA is having a Street Fighter II tournament on Friday March 29th. The tournament will be hosted by our own Willy Santos! They will be having an open skate session in the parking lot starting at 4pm prior to the start of the Street Fighter II tournament which begins at 6pm. Wahoo’s will be on site as well as BOOM Headphones providing music!

The tournament is free to enter and open to first 30 contestants to call so hurry!

"Keep Pushing" Skateboard Art Show

On Friday night, August 5th, Arnette team rider Willy Santos is hosting a skateboard art show called "Keep Pushing" at Market Street Village in San Diego.

With support from VuQo Premium Vodka and Vitamin Water, this 21+ event will run from 7-10pm and feature a selection of skateboards with custom designed graphics by various artists. At the end of the night, all artwork on display will be raffled off -- raffle tickets are $20 each. All money raised during the event will benefit the Willy Santos Foundation.

Arnette Presents Mini Ramp Summer Jam (7/24)

We're psyched to announce that on Sunday, July 24th, we're teaming up with Arnette OG Willy Santos for an all-ages Mini Ramp Summer Jam at Willy's Workshop in San Diego.

The contest is FREE to enter and competitors will be broken up into three divisions based on age -- 12 & Under | 13-18 | 18 & Up. The contest will run from Noon-5pm with registration starting at 11am. $700 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs, and a handful of lucky skaters will get hooked up with a brand new pair of Arnette shades.

It's gonna be an awesome time and we hope you can make it!

Sugar on the Beach in France

A few months ago Arnette team rider Willy Santos took a trip to France with the Quiksilver crew for a skate tour. The new issues of Sugar and Beach Brother magazines just dropped, and they both have some killer coverage of his overseas antics and adventures. From the looks of it, Willy and company skated the crêpe outta that place!

As we previously reported, on the 4th of July Arnette vet Willy Santos hosted a "Skate & Donate" fundraiser in support of the Mira Mesa Skate Plaza project. It was lots of fun, and all money raised during the event will go towards building the long overdue skate plaza.

Willy Santos is continuing on his mission to get the proposed Mira Mesa Skate Plaza funded and built. To do this, on July 4th he's hosting a special "Skate & Donate" fundraiser at the Mira Mesa Rec Center that will kick off at 11am.

All proceeds raised during the event will go towards building a free public skate plaza in Mira Mesa. So be a skate patriot and roll out to show your support!

Arnette Sponsors Go Skateboarding Day 2011

On Tuesday, June 21st, skateboarders from around the world will hit the streets to celebrate Go Skateboarding Day through a series of independently run regional events. Now in its ninth year, Go Skateboarding Day is an annual occurrence that has become universally recognized as the “Official Holiday of Skateboarding.”

In celebration of GSD 2011, we're teaming up with our main man Willy Santos for a special "Skate & Donate" BBQ Fundraiser from 11am-5pm at the Mira Mesa Epicentre. Skate sessions will be accompanied by free food and other giveaways. Plus, for a buck you can spin the wheel to win rad products from Arnette, Willy's Workshop, and other sponsors. All money raised during the event will go toward bulding a free public skatepark in Mira Mesa.

Arnette O.G. Willy Santos has been killing it for a loooong time. This year is a major milestone in his illustrious career as he marks his 20th anniversary of turning pro. To celebrate this impressive achievement, Willy's wheel sponsor Satori Movement put together this rad little edit. Plus, they just released a special edition annivesary wheel that you can pick up at your local shop.

Here's what Willy had to say, "Cheers to 20 years skateboarding professionally. Thank you to all that have supported my skateboarding in the past, present and future. I really do appreciate it and I’m truly grateful. You guys are awesome!"

I can't read Japanese, but I can recognize some sick skate photos when I see them. So, when Willy Santos emailed us this story from a recent trip to Japan he did with Mark Haziza, Jason Barr and Dayne Brummet for TransWorld Skateboarding Magazine Japan, we knew we had to post and let you guys in on the goods. It looks like they scored some pretty rad spots, but as far as what they did along the way, I am at a loss for words. So, please enjoy the imagery and if you can read Japanese then I am jealous.

The Sucihi boys as they are known were the lucky winners of a contest organized by Arnette Europe, where teams activated up to four participants, grabbed a videographer and set out to make the best skate section imaginable-which was then voted on by the public. Needless to say, the Sucihi boys were pretty solid and held their own when they met up with our seasoned skate vets and Arnette Family members Willy Santos, Pat Duffy, Danny Supa and newcoming young buck Ryan Decenzo. What follows below is all the action that took place and some pretty insane skating to say the least.

There are five sequences of Ryan Decenzo and the first four people to head over to our Facebook page and correctly name the tricks will be the lucky winners of an Arnette goodie bag. Enjoy the images from the day!

IN YOUR FACE crew Sucihi visits SoCal

It's not everyday that people get a chance to meet their idols, much less go skate with them for a few hours. Well, this indeed was the very case yesterday for the winning IN YOUR FACE skate crew from Barcelona, Spain. The Sucihi boys as they are known were the lucky winners of a contest organized by Arnette Europe, where teams activated up to five participants, grabbed a videographer and set out to make the best skate section imaginable-which was then voted on by the public. Needless to say, the Sucihi boys were pretty solid and held their own when they met up with seasoned skate vets and Arnette Family members Willy Santos, Pat Duffy, Danny Supa and newcoming young buck Ryan Decenzo. If they were nervous, they did a damn fine job hiding it.

The Barcelona boys' eyes lit up with excitement when told they would be going to a private/secret skate spot, and have it all to themselves while skating with our top dawgs. I could go on and on about the level of skating that went down but we're saving that for our major post next week complete with sequences, video and all, but for now, please enjoy these few snippets of shredfulness.

Hallows Eve Bowl Bash recap Video

It was a perfect night to hold a skate competition, the sun was setting and the kids ready to rip. Just two nights before Halloween so we knew when we asked people to show up in costume our request would be granted. Is there anything more rad than watching a tiny little grom boost out of the bowl wearing a Spongebob outfit? I'm hard pressed to find something cooler, but, there was something better than the costumes. It was the technical level of skating that went down for our Hallows Eve Bowl Bash. Although Josh Sandoval took the Pro divison, Kiko Franciso definitely did not disappoint when he conquered the Groms and Lizze Armanto not only took the Girls division but turned heads when she stepped it up and competed in the Sponsored Pro as well. The night was truly amazing, and if you don't believe us then look no further than the video evidence below. Not to mention Danny Supa, Willy Santos and Pat Duffy showed up to be guest judges so everybody was skating extra hard trying to impress those hero's.

Big thanks to the City of Lake Forest, Etnies Skatepark and of course Slush Puppie for supplying insane slushies and free nachos with popcorn. I still have a tummy ache. Also, for an extended gallery visiit us on Facebook. Hope you all had a happy Halloween.
