<![CDATA[Blog]]> http://www.arnette.com/blog/ Wed, 22 May 2013 06:46:10 +0000 Zend_Feed http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss <![CDATA[Daniel Sandoval wins the BMX Fall Classic ]]> http://www.arnette.com/blog/daniel-sandoval-bmx-fall-classic-wrap-up/ On Sunday, December 12th, the 2010 Arnette BMX Fall Classic went down at the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. The sun was blazing, the temps were warm, the riding was mental, the crowds were swarming, and the free Slush Puppies were flowing.

Our second annual All-Day Antics BMX event featured a street, flow and big air contest. There were 50 competitors broken up into five divisions based on age and skill level. Several hundred amped spectators lined the park with our very own Zack “Catfish” Yankush on the mic calling out the tricks. Fellow Arnette team rider Brian Kachinsky was also there, riding with the groms and helping to make sure things ran smoothly. And Mike Escamilla even stopped by to show his support.

The level of riding was through-the-roof with competitors of all ages absolutely going for it and throwing down some ridiculous tricks. When the dust settled, the big winner of the day was Corona local Daniel Sandoval who won the Sponsored Division and Big Air contest by boosting super stylish 12-foot airs off the vert wall. Daniel’s efforts earned him a cool 200 bucks and other rad prizes. Podium finishers in the other divisions also made out well by taking home custom cruiser board trophies and a bunch of Arnette swag.

It was an awesome day for BMX in Southern California and we’ve gotta give special thanks to all the competitors, spectators, volunteers, sponsors, and the city of Lake Forest for helping to make it such a great event. See ya next year!

]]> Fri, 10 Dec 2010 11:49:36 +0000 <![CDATA[All Day Antics wraps up at Jacksonville Beach]]> http://www.arnette.com/blog/all-day-antics-2010-surf-jacksonville-photo-story-recap/ This past Saturday around forty kids and their parents showed up to the Jax Pier despite 40 degree morning temps, for the 2010 Arnette All Day Antics presented by Sunrise Surf Shop. Everyone was stoked to see some really fun 2-3 ft lines coming in with the high tide and it was game on. With everyone fired up on DNA Energy and DNA  Shred Stix, kids were ripping. Each competitor went home with a bag of Arnette goodies, while the finalists each scored an extra bag with even more shwag including a brand new pair of Arnettes, and various prizes from Freestyle, Vestal, FCS and Sunrise.

The winners of each division, Travis Baranowski (Groms),Keenan Cunningham (Boys),Jake McGuire (Juniors), and Piper Austin (Girls), each took home their prizes inside a sick Arnette back pack. Thank you to everyone that participated and hung out despite the chilly weather. I'm pretty sure we all had a blast and a few laughs. Also a big thanks goes out to the sponsors who kicked in and the ESA/NFL district and the FSA for their contributions. We'll see you next year with a whole new exciting format so stay tuned...

]]> Mon, 06 Dec 2010 22:52:54 +0000 <![CDATA[All Day Antics Surf Series hitting Jacksonville]]> http://www.arnette.com/blog/all-day-antics-2010-surf-jacksonville/ Alrighty folks, it's finally here, the very last stop in the 2010 All Day Antics surf series is descending upon Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on Saturday, December 4th. Entry is free and we have divisions for the young ones, so bring them out and let them do their thing. Did we mention that every contestant will receive a sweet Arnette swag bag and for the second year in a row we have teamed up with Sunrise Surf shop? Last year we had 60 participants who were all shredding and the finalists walked home with new shades and much more. ASP judging criteria will be in effect, so bring out your groms for a fantastically rad day on the beach and at least if they're not participating then they will at least see some very good surfing!
