A new competition format debuted at this year's event which consisted of a combination live jam and filming contest.  Each team featured three riders plus a videographer.  Throughout the week the riders filmed on the course and collected some amazing footage.  Two live jam sessions also took place, which impacted overall scores, but the final produced video held the most weight.

When it was said and done, the judging panel deemed Team Kachinsky the winners because they had the best overall crew vibe, their riding was the most creative, and the production quality of their video was unsurpassed.  Nice work, fellas!  To get the full story, click here.

A hugely talented goofy-footer with a carefree attitude, penchant for tattoos, and unrelenting desire to punish waves of all shapes and sizes, Chippa is a dedicated waterman with passion and progression coursing through his veins.  Last year his never-before-landed, skateboarding-inspired “Big Spin” made him a web sensation, and the solo film project he released with Analog, NOW, earned him a nomination as “Breakthrough Performer of the Year” at the 2010 Surfer Poll Awards.

To ensure Summer X went out with a bang, last night we were a proud sponsor of the official X Games Athlete Closing Party at LA's Icon Lounge.  There were about 500 people in attendance, including Arnette riders Rob Darden, Corey Martinez, Danny Supa and Sage Kotsenburg.  Drinks were flowing all night and live music was served up by Del and Machine Gun Kelly.

Everyone had a blast and it was definitely an awesome ending to a rad week in LA!  Can't wait for next year...

Lots of heavyhitters were in the house, and we're stoked to report that our very own Aaron "Gorkin" Cormican finished in 3rd place and took home a check for $2,000!  To celebrate his podium finish, later that night Gorkin generously shelled out a third of his prize money ($657.93 to be exact) to buy lots of stiff drinks and shots for his surfing compatriots.  Good times were had by all, and plenty of hangovers were endured the next morning.  Gotta love Gorkin!

And let's not foget fellow Arnette team rider Michael Dunphy who also had a solid showing, finishing equal 7th and earning $700 for his efforts.  Nice job, fellas!

If you don't already know, Linkin Park's new single "Iridescent" is featured in the third installment of the Transformers mega-franchise.  It's a really great song and you can check it out in the below video from their live performance in Moscow's Red Square on June 23rd.

It was a hard-fought final, with Zeke and Mitch trading off even exchanges in the beginning of the heat.  But midway through, Zeke locked into a perfect righthander and unleashed a whirlwind of powerful forehand turns which earned him a 9.23 -- the highest single-wave score of the day.  Soon after that, he had another amazing ride which earned him an 8.07 and effectively locked up the win.

“It just felt so good when I got here, the waves are good and I just stayed relaxed,” Zeke said.  “It’s a bounce back, I’ve had some ups and downs and I just wanted to get back on it and just relax and surf.  I just had so much fun.  Mitch surfed so well and I wanted to surf against him in the Final.”

As the Open Mens Champ, South Carolina's Cam Richards definitely took home the most significant honor of the day.  Here's what the crew at Surfline had to say about his impressive victory:

...15-year-old Cam Richards, fresh off a King of the Groms HB win and a Standout Performance at the Quilksilver USA Champs, challenged the gutless walls to let off some steam on the older division -- and dominated.  "I was really bummed I didn't make Open Juniors, 'cause that was the main division I was focusing on.  So I just took out my anger on the Open Mens."

A pretty carefree Richards breezed through the early rounds.  But once the field was chopped to twelve surfers, he began to realize the weight of what was happening.  Richards reflects, "Once it got down to the quarters and semis, I started feeling the pressure because I knew I was in the running to win -- it was scary."

In the 30-minute final, Cam mixed tailslides and precise rail carves on the numbered lefts to take over the lead from start to finish.  This marks only the second time an East Coaster has won the prestigious Open Mens title -- the last time it happened was in the summer of 1978, NSSA's inaugural year...

Mikey Scott from Push.ca recently caught up Dustin to ask him a few questions about the future, and it turns out he had some pretty interesting things to say.  Click here to take a peek inside Dustin's world.

Led by Steve Rodriguez from 5boro Skateboards, the NYC leg of GSD is always a major happening -- and this year was certainly no exception as roughly 3,000 skaters hit the streets for events throughout the city's five boroughs.

At McCarren Park in Brooklyn, a "Longest Ollie" contest was held, and it's of little surprise that Arnette team rider Luis Tolentino took home the win and a check for $1,000 courtesy of CCS.  Luis proves time and time again that he's the undisputed king of pop, and this time he wowed the crowd by blasting a massive flat ground ollie over 21 decks that were lined up side-by-side.

Don't mean to get all mathematical on ya, but if you consider the fact that each deck is approximately 8 inches wide and he ollied over 21 of them, that means the distance Luis ollied is roughly 14 feet -- which is mind-blowingly HUGE!!!

Few other skaters still rolling can lay claim to a legacy with as much impact as the one Duffy has... and he's still rolling, still progressing even after enduring one of the most brutal slams the Mega Ramp has ever meted out. Ford had a great showing and made it all the way to the semi-finals, but just couldn't get that last insane air to push him into the final. Mason and Gorkin went head-to-head in the final and finished 1st and 2nd respectively, with Mason taking home a $1,000 in cold hard cash for a sick backside 360 reverse. Afterwards Mason said, "I was stoked to get the invite and knew I could win this event and it will give me confidence headed to Brazil for the 6-Star Primes."

We're super stoked for Mason and Gorkin as they are always pushing the limits and progressing the sport of surfing.

At only 11 years old, the Newport Elementary fifth grader is Arnette's youngest team rider. But don't let his pint size fool you because Tyler surfs with man-sized power, finesse and confidence. The future is very bright for this kid and we're stoked he's part of the fam!

Held at Cantina Lounge in Fullerton, it was free to get in with drink specials flowin' all night.  Del and Bukue One both gave killer live performances and absolutely blew the doors off the place, like they always do!  The Arnette fam was in the house including new recruits like surfer Mason Ho and skaters Ryan and Scott Decenzo.  Plus, a few lucky partygoers got hooked up with free shades and other exclusive gear autographed by Del.

Tired of getting kicked out of spots and suffering through brutal Chi-town winters, BK decided to take matters into his own hands.  With help from his extended crew of friends and Nate Wessel from 4 Seasons Skatepark, BK and company designed and built a rad spot specifically geared toward authentic BMX street riding.

As BK puts it, “I love riding and have always dreamed of having a place to ride where all of my favorite things are in one place, and now that dream has come true. It’s a place to ride that’s out of the unfavorable weather and at my disposal 24/7. With the help of Wessel, Povah and many of my friends I was able to make it a reality and I’m really happy with the outcome. Now when my friends come to town, we’ll have a place to ride that’s not restricted to whatever might try to stop us from riding.”

Although The Bakery is not open to the general public, BMX riders from around the world can stay up to date on all park happenings by visiting the official website, Twitter page and Facebook.

Expect a lot of great content to be cooked up at The Bakery in the coming months as some heavy hitters will be making the rounds including Aaron Ross, Van Homan, Arnette teammate Corey Martinez, and many more.

Seeing as it was early April on the East Coast, the conditions weren't ideal, but plenty of great surfing still went down.  Air temps barely cracked 50, water temps were in the mid-40's, full suits were in effect, and super fun head-high waves were pumping all day.

With $2,500 in cash up-for-grabs, everyone was definitely going for it.  When it was all said and done, the big winners of the day were 13-year-old young gun Tyler Clazey in the U16 division, and power surfer Clay Pollioni in the Pro/Am division.  Congrats fellas!

The Newport Beach Pro-Am winners! Who will be next in New Jersey?

For the past decade the Ride Shakedown events have distinguished themselves amongst an overly crowded contest calendar by having the most innovative and rider friendly format on the competition circuit. By mandating that riders call their tricks before dropping and abstain from repeating moves the spectacle remains fresh and progressive with only the best riders reap the rewards.

On Friday March 18th, 2011 The Shakedown made its second appearance at The Summit-at-Snoqualmie, WA and in typical Northwest fashion it was damp. Yet the moist conditions didn’t deter the 40 riders in the invite only rail event from stepping up picking apart the two-feature setup. The lookers right of the course yielded a quad kink square bar while the left showcased a bloated round bar complete with a girthy donkey at the end. Two heats of 20 or so riders jammed nonstop for 45 minutes vying for a spot in the 8 man finals. Standouts like Dylan Alito, Garret Warnick, Seth Hill and Yale Cousino set down some of the best tricks of the night but they lacked the consistency and panache of the eventual finalists.

SixEleven: Ride Shakedown 2011 Snoqualmie Recap

The 8 men making the main event cut were Johnny Lazzereschi, Joe Mango, Alex Andrews, Jeremy Cloutier, Ryan Paul, Matts Kulesik, Zak Hale, and Stefan Krumm. After some serious riding, the eventual podium consisted of Johnny Lazzereschi, Matts Kulesik and Jeremy Cloutier respectively.

They were an extremely frothy group of guys and upon meeting up with them in Newport at 28th street for a surf with Arnette riders Michael Dunphy and Christian Saenz, we knew immediately why they won.  Needless to say that the fog bank rolled in and weather went to crap almost instantaneously but they were still super psyched to be hanging and surfing with us. Even better, was post-surf while we were drying off and the Red Bull girls rolled up…well, just look at the photo below and you will catch my drift. At that moment we realized that these guys were definitely a handful but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Be on the lookout for them as they head up to Santa Cruz, you can’t miss their car…if you see them give them a honk!

Dennis Busenitz has won Tampa Pro 2011. Busenitz flew to Tampa from his home in San Francisco the night before the finals and came through with a perfect run in his last of three. Busenitz, who won Tampa once before back in 2005, saw the wins (or perhaps the winning celebrations) as being similar.

"Very similar. Champagne and ... weirdness," he said after the scores were announced. "It's good though. I just landed all the stuff I wanted to do."

The final was a fierce contest between Busenitz, Torey Pudwill, Chaz Ortiz, Nyjah Huston, Shane O'Neill, Paul Rodriguez and Luan Oliveira. Though it consisted of the top 10 from semifinals as well as Pudwill and Zered Bassett (the golden ticket winners from qualifying day), the real contest seemed to be between the aforementioned group. Each of those skaters had runs and tricks that could win a heavy contest on any given day. Sunday belonged to Busenitz though, no question about it.

Witnessing Busenitz during his last attempt in the finals (the 12 riders who make the finals are given three runs each) was surreal. He skated faster than anyone else the entire weekend with the possible exception of Mike Peterson. With each run, Busenitz changed up a few of his tricks and went full-speed, full-gusto at every obstacle. Falling more than once during his first two attempts, it was amazing to see him hang on in his last run and continue to do tricks even after his time was up. The entire crowd here in Tampa erupted in amazement and the results in his favor seemed like a foregone conclusion to all in attendance.

Altogether, this was yet another fantastic contest put on by SPoTlight Productions and the folks at the Skatepark of Tampa. Seems like they get better every year and the level of competition gets more and more intense. Outside of the competitive atmosphere on the course, the camaraderie of a skateboarding event put on by skaters for skaters makes Tampa Pro something unique and special for all of us in attendance. Tahoe’s own Nick Visconti is a cerebral snowboarder who creatively explores shredding through filming for Think Thank and producing online media segments for “Tahoe Dangerzone,” a video blog that documents his on-hill antics and experiments.  Nick has a larger-than-life personality and unique style, and he is a dedicated skateboarder.  When not holding it down in Tahoe, he can be found lurking in Venice Beach with the Arbor crew.

North Lake Tahoe’s Johnny Lazz is one of the funniest dudes you will ever meet.  He is loud, super talkative and doesn’t give a f%#k what other people think.  An all-terrain dominator who can slay backcountry lines and handrails equally well, Johnny loves to bend the rules and has been known to outrun ski patrol on more than one occasion.

A proud Vermonter with deep Killington roots, Niko Cioffi has a scrappy swagger and style all his own.  He is a founding member of Rutland’s GBP crew, and over the past few years he has spent winters in Truckee riding and filming with the Forum team.  With several impressive video parts already to his credit and a deep bag of tech tricks on lock, the future looks bright for this versatile Green Mountain shredder.

Tim Eddy is an Alpine Meadows local and total ripper.  When the flakes are flying he spends his days in the backcountry dropping cliffs and carving out ridiculous lines.  When summer rolls around he packs his bags and heads to High Cascade to keep the good times rollin’.  A self-proclaimed foodie with a sweet tooth, Tim’s mellow demeanor and positive attitude make him an awesome guy to hang out with.

Norwegian powerhouse Alek Ostreng charged onto the scene a few years back and has been making noise ever since.  A dedicated member of the Youngblood squad, Alek is a top competitor on the Winter Dew Tour and has been hard at work this season filming for the new Forum team video.  Whether big air or slopestyle, Alek is always smooth as butter and can throw down with the best of ‘em.

Alex Tank is a Euro jibbing machine with a super clean style who kills parks and rails like nobody’s business.  Arguably the best thing to come out of Germany since Heidi Klum and Oktoberfest, Alex rides with the Eye of the Tiger and absolutely destroys it every time he straps on his board.

Be on the lookout for Arnette’s snow team at a mountain near you as they will all be wearing the new Mercenary and Series 3 goggles, which are slated to hit shops Fall 2011.

The 2nd stop of Arnette's 2011 Cash Pot Surf Series has been moved to Prospect Street!  The contest will still take place this Saturday (3/5), but instead of happening at Blackies as originally planned, it will now be held two miles North at Prospect Street where the swell is expected to be much better.

Arnette’s new regional surf series is free to enter and features seven contests throughout California, Hawaii, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida.  Competitors will be broken up into two divisions – Pro-Am and 16 & Under – with $2,500 in cash up-for-grabs at each event.  Unlike most contests where only top finishers get paid, at the Cash Post Surf Series money will be awarded from heat one through the finals.

At each contest, ASP judging criteria and interference rules will be in full effect with the first place finisher in the 16 & Under division taking home $250 and the winner of the Pro-Am division earning a cool $500.

Bonjuorno! Alek Oestreng was in Italy this week to eat some pasta, drink red wine, and win some damn contests. Successful on all accounts, Alek won the Burn River Jump and took Fourth Place in Slopestyle. Originally, he was announced a third place finish, but then got pushed back to fourth....WTF is up with European judging? Either Way, Alek still murdered it and we are so proud of him.

This contest series is the first of its kind as contestants in the Pro-Am Division earned $50 for winning their first and second round heats, and competitors in the 16 & Under Division were awarded $25 for each heat win.  During the quarter-finals Arnette offered up a pot of $100 for the best trick, and the winner was Brent Reilly with an insane 360 air reverse.  All-in-all, the event was super fun and everyone who participated went home stoked. Huge congrats to Cory Arrambide for grinding through the tough conditions and taking home the grand prize of a cool $500. More Arnette Cash Pot Surf Series events will take place in the coming months on both coasts and in Hawaii, so keep checking in back here on our website for the full schedule and more details. "It was NW swell mixed with a little NNW so it was focusing at Off-the-Wall bigger than Pipe," Joel Centeio recalls of last week's dream run. "That was one of the better sessions I've ever had out there. I had five or six of my best waves that day. It was consistently good, six- to eight-foot Off-the-Wall with perfect conditions. That was actually my first wave of the session and there were only a few guys out so I paddled straight into the lineup and this wave swung inside. I got a decent little pump at the beginning and from there I had my speed. I was super-deep and saw the doggy door at the end. As I flew out, I threw a little claim because I was psyched on it."

Timmy's OTW bomber!!!

BMX has allowed me to live inside the history books that once just 
weighed  down my backpack as I rode my bike school.  A few years ago 
on an Etnies trip we hopped a fence and rode a bank-to-rail in front 
of Hitler's former airport in Berlin. That was crazy. I've also got to 
pedal down the same streets that Manuel Noriega once marched his army 
down in Panama. I've manualed through Red Square in Moscow,  done a 
barspin in front of the former KGB headquarters and past countless 
memoirs of Stalin.

This video is a brief glimpse into an experience that goes beyond 
words. Riding in Saddam Hussein's palace was insane. These brief 
minutes of riding through his former empire made things more vivid to 
me than any history book or Discovery Channel program ever could. I'm 
thankful for the experience and hope you enjoy.

From Denver to Aspen, the big air contest moved across Colorado with riders throwing it down at Winter X Games. Horgmo landed a triple cork to post the highest total score of 80, with second and third close behind. Canada's Sebastien Toutant scored a 79 to take silver with our Kostenburg earning a 77 to finish with bronze. To say that we're proud of Sage is a severe understatement, for him to step up like this and take home bronze only cements what we already know...that he one of the best up and comers out there. Right on Sage!

The other day I found myself passing through Chicago again, and every time I do, I make an effort meet up with DK's Brian Kachinsky. The funny thing is, he's always traveling when I come to town, and we never get to meet up. I run into him more in other parts of the country throughout the year than in Chicago. I guess that's just the life of a pro BMXer, but Kachinsky's is more like that of a celebrity. He's always on the go, traveling on some of the most unique and coolest trips that go down in BMX. And as luck would have it, we finally did get to meet up on my last pass through Chicago.

Of course, Brian just got back into town and was already packing his bags to fly out to Calfornia the next day. He was off to stay at Rooftop's house and get out of the snow. We didn't have much time to shoot photos, but he had a minute to grab some coffee and catch up. He told me about some of the wild trips he's gone on lately, in addition to the whole etnies team change. This is our conversation.

ESPN.com: Shortly after coming back from your Iraq trip for "Bike Over Baghdad," you flew down to New Orleans just to ride an abandoned Six Flags Theme park. What was that like? Who all went and did you find much to ride?
Kachinsky: Aaron Ross, Jeff K., Walter Pieringer and myself went on a spur of the moment adventure that couldn't have gone much better. It was fun, scary and interesting all wrapped up in two action-packed days. The result will be in an upcoming issue of Ride UK. It's going to be awesome. Keep your eyes out for it.

You've been busted before riding and fined pretty heavy for riding a spot in the past. Were you scared that you might get arrested or fined riding the Six Flags park in New Orleans?
Nah, I'm over it. I'm just going to keep riding my bike, having fun and hoping that I don't make anyone mad while doing it.

You just left for California to kick it with Rooftop and Kat Von D. How's it going? What are you guys up to? Are you planning on getting a tattoo while you're out there?
I'm just out in California avoiding the worst part of the Midwest winter. Rooftop was nice enough to let me crash at his place. No Kat sightings so far but I've met her before, she's rad and very down to earth. Tattoos? Nah, tattoos are not my cup of tea but well-done tattoos do look pretty rad.

There were just that big shake up with the entire etnies team for 2011. What are your thoughts about it all and are you excited about the direction things are going?
I think the etnies team for 2011 is awesome! That being said, I thought the 2010 team was amazing too. Things change and what goes on behind the scenes is really none of my business so I stay out of all that. I am stoked for trips this year with the crew and being able to wear some of the best shoes out. Thanks etnies!

What's your number one goal for 2011?
My goal is to get rad at least once a day. So far so good!

Now how much are you looking forward to the Simpel Session event?
- I have been looking forward to this event since I left Tallinn last year. This contest is always an exciting one because the riding is always insane and it's in an amazing city/country. Simpel Session never disappoints.

How many times have you been before?
- I think this will be my 4th time to Simpel Session. Each year keeps getting better.

Does your bike have some new sponsor stickers for 2011 that you want to show off in Tallinn?
- At the moment I have the same sponsors I had last year. DK, Etnies, Action Village and Arnette are all helping me have a great time in 2011. I'm pumped.

What was your first impression when you saw the 3D drawings of the Simpel Session course for 2011?
- My first impression was overwhelmed. The course looks insane this year and looks like a lot of people are going to be going really fast. Shit's gonna get crazy.

When are you getting there?
- I think I'm getting there the night of February 2nd. I'm flying all the way from Los Angeles this time. I've been staying out here with Rooftop this past month to escape the cold Chicago winters. It will be a long full day of flying to get there but who cares... it's Estonia!

Are you spending some extra time in Tallinn? and if so, what have you planned on doing besides riding the contest?
- Yeah, I'm planning go to Finland or Latvia for a few days after the contest which should be a lot of fun. There are indoor parks in each place and I have friends in both. I figure, if I fly halfway across the world I might as well take some time to sightsee and chill right?

Who are you looking forward to see at the event?
- Everyone. I'm stoked to see guys like Sergio and Ruben who are teammates of mine but I don't get to see them as often as the other guys. I'm also excited to see anyone else who lives outside the US because chances are I haven't seen them for a while. It's always nice to catch up, ride bikes and maybe have a beer afterwards.

Who do you think will make a podium spot for sure?
- There are never any guarantees at something like that but I'd say Drew B. and Garrett both have a great chance. They both ALWAYS kill it.

Will you be nervous when you drop in for your run in front of a few thousand screaming girls?
- Haha, nah. It's not the first time. haha.

Are you ready for the after-parties?
- Oh man. Nothing can prepare you for that. Should I practice?

If the right obstacle is there, what trick are you going to try for the first time in a contest?
- I'll have to see the course in person before I can tell if there is something new I can do on it. There are a few things I'd like to try though and if everything feels right, it would be the perfect time to try something new.

If Sage Kotsenburg expected to be as good as he is now, he surely doesn't admit it.

The 17-year-old Park City slopestyle snowboarder has a low-key, laid-back persona that seemingly carries over onto his numerous competition circuits.
"It's a whirlwind," said Kotsenburg.
Having lived in Park City for 13 years, he grew up snowboarding on the slopes of Park City Mountain Resort with his older brother, Blaze. At the age of five, he strapped into his first snowboard and by the age of seven he was competing.
Starting at age eight, he won every U.S. Snowboard Series event he enrolled in for the next four years. He made his U.S. Open slopestyle debut at the age of 12, and with each successive year, Kotsenburg has continued to improve and to turn heads.

"It definitely worked out, like crazy fast," he said. "Time seems to go by in the blink of an eye."

As the 2009-10 Winter Dew Tour men's slopestyle season came to an end, he found himself sitting at No. 1, finishing with a season-high in total points (260). With a Dew Cup in hand, he also took fifth place at the Winter X-Games a year ago and took a silver medal in the 2009-10 X-Games Europe. Kotsenburg is enjoying his blossoming career, and says there's no feeling comparable to competing at the Winter X-Games. He is salivating at the opportunity in the next couple months.

"It's just so epic," he said. "There's a super good vibe and you're like in superstar status. Dropping into that lip at the X-Games it's a really big rush."

So far this season on the Dew Tour, there's been one stop at Breckenridge, Colo., an event in which Kotsenburg struggled a bit.
He said he had a run of successful practices before the competition started. However, the course got dumped on by sticky snow on the last day of the competition and snow accumulated in the middle of many jumps.

"It just wasn't working out," he said. "I couldn't clear the jumps."

Kotsenburg finished 11th overall. But he is ready to get back on track when the tour stops in Killington, Vt., next weekend.

But life for the 17-year-old isn't always snowboarding; probably just 99 percent. Kotsenburg is home schooled and has only two more classes to finish before he graduates. Most of his friends attend Park City High School and when he's not soaring through the air, he can be found hanging out with friends.

When asked if the college path is in his near future, he addressed the question as if he'd never heard it before.

"Right now, I don't really feel I need to go to college," he said. "I'm just not rushing into it."

His focus on improving his snowboarding technique is simple: just work and try things that have never been tried.

"You have to learn tricks so fast," he said. "It's not only about having ability. It's not just a double-cork 360; it's something that's pretty heavy. It's scary trying to go that another 10 feet."

Being an innovator at 17 isn't easy. While it may look fairly easy, the technique and thought behind tricks should not be underestimated.

"You take one rotation, you multiply it and you just hope it works out," he said. "Once you know how to do something you'll be fine.
"It's almost like going in slow motion. You think you're going to die almost; it's like a rollercoaster."

Even having broken his wrist three different times, his collarbone twice (repaired with plates and screws), and a knee injury, the youngster is able to keep a smile going, knowing full well what he's able to do.
"It's funny how it all works," he said. "It's all good."

Danny Supa strikes me as the type of guy that stays on point both on and off his skateboard. He’s always skated with a lot of power and style, clearly has a good business sense, and has taken full advantage of all of the opportunities that came his way. Those factors seem to weigh heavily on why Danny has managed to maintain as a professional for more than a decade. Despite sponsorship troubles, self-admitted lazy periods, and intermittent lack of coverage; Danny continues to thrive and remain relevant in skateboarding. With clear goals set for himself, Supa is ready to be back in the public eye. I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with over the next year or so.

48 Blocks: Where are you from originally and when and how did you get started skateboarding?

Danny: I’m originally from the Bronx New York and I first started skateboarding seriously when I was in Florida living with my dad. My parents separated and me and my sister went to Florida to live with my dad.

"Surfing's biggest award show in my home town, and I get to co-host it alongside Sal-there's no other way to put it, I'm stoked," says Patacchia.

"It makes so much sense that the industry's most monumental night will finally take place on surfing's biggest stage," added Masekela. "I'm humbled and honored to share the stage with Freddy in presenting what will no doubt be one of the most memorable Surfer Poll Awards in history."

This year's SURFER Poll Awards will be held in honor of recently lost legend, three-time World Champion Andy Irons. While acknowledging all of the surfers lost this year, the event will put a heavy focus on Andy and the legacy he leaves behind in and out of the water. Another focal point of this year's show will be Kelly Slater's 10th world title win. Touted as the world's most dominant athlete, Kelly's accomplishments have catapulted the sport of surfing and garnered the world's attention.

In years past, the SURFER Poll has bestowed top honors to some of the great surfing icons including Phil Edwards, Shaun Tomson, Tom Curren, Andy Irons, Kelly Slater, Lisa Andersen, Layne Beachley, Sofia Mulanovich, and Stephanie Gilmore. With an onslaught of new school talent beginning to make their mark this year, it's uncertain whether the veterans will retain their stronghold on the rankings, or whether we may just see a surprising changing of the guard.

The 40th annual SURFER Poll presented by Samsung and Verizon Wireless will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu's North Shore. Arnette: How did you get the nickname Catfish?

Zack Yankush: Short story:Catfish came about because I was jealous that all my friends had nicknames and I didn't so I gave myself the best or worst nickname ever. Long story: involves knockouts, police, and bi-sexual women.

AR: Who/what are your inspirations?

ZY: I get a lot of inspiration from music- I am inspired by struggling artists. A lot of my inspiration comes from riders. Rob Ridge, BK, Degroot, Nyquist.

AR: What Arnette frame is your favorite and why?

ZY: I love the venkmans. They make me feel important and smart when I wear them.

AR: What do you (and others) think about Arnette being in the BMX world?

ZY: It's always a great thing when a company like Arnette gets involved in bmx. Doing it the right way with a tight dialed team was key. It's rad because  Arnette understands the lifestyle aspect of bmx. It's not about contest placings as much as it is looking good.

AR: How was our pump track?

Also a major part of this international event is a film festival featuring the life story of BMX legend Mat Hoffman. Directed by longtime friend Jeff Tremaine and produced by Priya Swaminathan, Spike Jonze, and Mark Lewman, the film pays tribute to this BMX legend. It includes interviews with supporters and fans, like Evel Knievel. This film shows us the sacrifice it takes to be one of the greatest athletes in the world and we are stoked to be a proud sponsor of this massive event.

With that being said, our Junior crew comprised of Christian Saenz, Chase Wilson and Tyler Gunter were still ripping and taking the conditions in stride-doing what pro surfers do best-making bad conditions look good. So, at the end of the day we were pretty stoked as we did nail some good photos and had a beautiful breakfast at Mc'Donalds. However, the happiness soon wore off once reports started trickling in about how good it was down south and over the border. Oh well, until next time...

In true pre-Halloween spirit, our latest All-Night Antics party was dubbed “Night of the Undead.” People turned out in droves and definitely didn’t disappoint with awesome costumes at every turn. Those that went the extra mile and truly dressed to impress got hooked up with brand new shades and other Arnette swag. Check out our photo gallery here or go to the TransWorld Business website.

Highlights of the evening included performances by the Skatanic Rednecks and Snakebit Drifters who played live until the very last second of 2am when the bar had to literally shut down. Some of the costumes we saw were truly amazing and we could tell that people went the extra mile when outfitting for our occasion, so they were rewarded with brand new sunglasses and other Arnette swag. In fact, we were so busy giving out product that our display case was empty by the end of the night. We could go on and on but just check the photos below to see the antics firsthand. If you couldn’t make it we hope to see you at our next party in a few months.

Alliance Wakeboard Magazine and Arnette teamed up again for another Ride with Randall Harris and Scotty Byerly day.  This year's winners, Neil Wahlberg and Justin Harrelson got an amazing day of riding behind Scott Byerly's boat on the Butler Chain in beautiful Orlando, Florida.

Justin started it off with an amazing set and had Randall and Scott's eye popping out of their head because his riding was mental. He was definitely not afraid to go big and managed to get Byerly to drive a couple double ups for him.  Up next was Randall "Vandall" Harris and his riding was flawless as always, and Neil and Justin had never seen anything like it before. Neil later said, "Watching Randall ride is like watching someone on steroids."

Byerly followed it up with a dope wake skate session and showed those guys why he is a legend.  Neil then followed up Byerly's session with some smooth fresh moves and had a bag of tricks of his own.  Beandip even got in the act by jumping on a wakeskate and doing an air of his own.  After everyone was done riding we went to Butler island, had a few cold one's and then hit up Kobe Steak House for dinner.  It was an amazing day and Neil and Justin were the perfect winners for the Ride with Randall and Byerly day.  Thanks to Alliance Magazine, Arnette Sunglasses, Randall Harris, and big props to Scott Byerly for letting us use his boat all day.

That panel will then choose the 3 best bands according to the following criteria: musicality, originality, lyrics and performance. All three will go on stage to perform in a huge party that will happen in November, in São Paulo. The winner will sign an annual contract with Arnette, where the song will be featured in the Arnette 2011 sports video. So if you have friends in a band or our known to rip on the skins yourself…pass the word on.
