Brian Kachinsky and Autism Speaks

etnies Footwear has teamed up with Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, to create a line of co-branded kid's footwear. Ten percent of proceeds of sales of the co-branded shoes, with a minimum of $10,000 per year, will be donated to Autism Speaks to help raise awareness and support Autism Speaks in their continued efforts to fund autism research, as well as develop resources and treatments.

etnies BMX pro and Arnette Family member, Brian Kachinsky, has rallied behind the cause. "Individual sports like BMX, can have a positive effect on children with autism," says Kachinsky. "When etnies made me aware of the Autism Speaks organization, I jumped at the chance to be a part of the effort," he adds. And, he is totally right.

Matt Berger wins AM Getting Paid 2010

With 6 qualifier stops across Canada leading to the grand finale in Montreal, Am Getting Paid is the biggest amateur skateboard competition in Canada. Arnette was an official sponsor of the tour this year and we saw it as an important opportunity to reinforce our grass roots relationship within the skateboarding community across Canada. At each stop free schwag was abundantly available in the forms of Arnette skateboard decks, tees, trucker hats and piles atop piles of stickers. The groms were psyched, Am's were ripping and people were happy...the Arnette Gorilla even made an appearance!

When the smoke cleared, it was Matt Berger who ended up taking the title and with past winners including the likes of Ryan Decenzo and Nyjah Huston, Matt no doubt has a bright future ahead of him. With $5000 now in the bank maybe Matt will take a day or two off and let his victory soak in before contemplating his next big move...or win.
