Arnette Limited Edition Del the Homosapien signature Fire Drill

Arnette has collaborated with Del the Funky Homosapien to bring two Limited Edition signature colorways of the Fire Drill available at Sunglass Hut starting October 20th.

The Del edition of the Fire Drill features a matte black frame that dissolves out into purples on the lower rims and temples. Del’s signature logo is featured on one temple tip and the iconic Hieroglyphics logo gets placement on the other. It’s available with either blue mirror or polarized gray faded lenses.

To celebrate the release of the new Del Fire Drill sunglasses, Arnette and Sunglass Hut will be hosting an in-store meet-and-greet with Del at the Sunglass Hut store in Union Square, San Francisco (170 Geary St., San Francisco) 6p-7:30pm and will be throwing a special product release party at Public Works (161 Erie St., San Francisco) 9pm on Oct. 27th. Del, along with The Souls of Mischief, Casual and Bukue one will be performing LIVE!

In early May we ran a Facebook contest featuring our Fire Drill shades in the limited edition neon "Gas Station" colorways. We got a bunch of great entries, and after careful consideration we chose the following Arnette fans as the big winners (listed in no particular order). All 12 winners received a pair of Fire Drill shades and other rad Arnette gear.

Fire Drill at MTV in Times Square

Taped in front of a live studio audience in Times Square, MTV's hit daily show "The Seven" takes viewers through the seven things MTV feels you must know about.

On last Friday's episode (5/13), we're stoked to report that host Kevin Manno rocked our Fire Drill shades during a fashion segment on sunglasses with style expert Greta Lee.

We don't mean to toot our own horn here (or maybe we do just a bit), but of all the shades Kevin tried on he definitely got the loudest cheers from the audience when he was wearing the Fire Drill!

Well we managed to do it again… after whole month of torrential downpour, the skies cleared, the city got sweaty & officially ready to kick start Summer. At the heart of Sydney’s CBD we joined forces with the successful laneway bar; Grasshopper over running the alley with grooving young things to present Arnette’s 2011 season. Finally baring legs and jumper-free torsos, girls and guys swaggered to the sounds of absolutely booming hip hop bouncing across the buildings & let the rest of the city know we were here to party. Fruity Fanta & Rum cocktails on entry entitled guests with a custom Arnette jam jar & worded up to keep a hold for the evening as we enforced a “No Jar, No Drink!” policy.

We could’ve been hanging in Brooklyn, everyone piled into the street amidst fire escapes, flickering neons, milk crates & air ducts with Levins & Captain’ Franco (Halfway Crooks) on the decks, hoots continually rose from the crowd and hands thrown above heads bouncing along to classic favourites – Bone Thugs, Public Enemy, Dre … da whoop!
All left with smiles & plenty to talk about. Here we come summer fun.

Night of the Undead party gets featured on TransWorld Business

On Saturday night, October 23, we threw a blow-out bash at Costa Mesa’s Tiki Bar to celebrate the release of our three new Fall shades - Fire Drill, Stakeout and Wager, which will hit retail November 1, 2010.

In true pre-Halloween spirit, our latest All-Night Antics party was dubbed “Night of the Undead.” People turned out in droves and definitely didn’t disappoint with awesome costumes at every turn. Night of the Undead Party goes wild!

Throwing a costume party is usually easier said than done. You always have this grand vision in your head of how elaborate everyone will be dressed up and pray that everybody you invite will indeed show up, so essentially you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Well, that was not the case for our latest All Night Antics party “Night of the Undead” which took place this last Saturday at the Tiki Bar in Orange County. The people turned out in droves, and let me tell you, they surely did get the memo and were dressed to impress (the undead that is). The booze was flowing, music cranking and people getting wild on all levels. All the elements needed for a successful shindig right? Oh yeah, did we mention that it was also the official launch party for our new Fire Drill, Stakeout and Wager sunglasses which the crowd was super psyched on and a few lucky souls even got to take some home.

Highlights of the evening included performances by the Skatanic Rednecks and Snakebit Drifters who played live until the very last second of 2am when the bar had to literally shut down. Some of the costumes we saw were truly amazing and we could tell that people went the extra mile when outfitting for our occasion, so they were rewarded with brand new sunglasses and other Arnette swag. In fact, we were so busy giving out product that our display case was empty by the end of the night. We could go on and on but just check the photos below to see the antics firsthand. If you couldn’t make it we hope to see you at our next party in a few months.
