Arnette rider Pat Duffy recently sat down with the ESPN Skateboarding crew to discuss a wide range of topics. Bottom line, Duffy is the man! Here's the intro from ESPN's Adam Salo and you can watch the full interview below:

"Pat Duffy is one of street skating's made men, a true godfather with style. Handrails with kinks? Duffy's had that since 1991. Skating rails in the rain? Yup, he did that first, too. Few other skaters still rolling can lay claim to a legacy with as much impact as the one Duffy has... and he's still rolling, still progressing even after enduring one of the most brutal slams the Mega Ramp has ever meted out. Recently, Duffy got a session in at the Oceanside skatepark in San Diego and talked with our man Corey Cabrera about skating, Plan B video projects, fatherhood and more."

On Saturday, May 14th, the 2nd Annual Sheckler Foundation "Skate for a Cause" event took place at the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. The event raised thousands of dollars for Autism Speaks with more than 1,000 people in attendance to watch some of skateboarding's biggest names battle it out in a series of Best Trick contests.

Arnette's own Pat Duffy won best trick on the Red Bull tech center, and teammate Ryan Decenzo won best trick on the Power Balance stairs, rails and hubba section. Not only are Duffy and Decenzo amazing skaters, but they're also really caring dudes because they donated their winnings - which totaled $8,000 - to Autism Speaks. Nice work, fellas!

Dennis Busenitz wins the Tampa Pro 2011

We were extremely proud to be the official sponsor for the Tampa Pro 2011 which took place last weekend! The skating was insane and the afterparty even better (photos of that coming soon), but, in the meantime check out the recap and video below from our good friends at ESPN.

Dennis Busenitz has won Tampa Pro 2011. Busenitz flew to Tampa from his home in San Francisco the night before the finals and came through with a perfect run in his last of three. Busenitz, who won Tampa once before back in 2005, saw the wins (or perhaps the winning celebrations) as being similar.

"Very similar. Champagne and ... weirdness," he said after the scores were announced. "It's good though. I just landed all the stuff I wanted to do."

The final was a fierce contest between Busenitz, Torey Pudwill, Chaz Ortiz, Nyjah Huston, Shane O'Neill, Paul Rodriguez and Luan Oliveira. Though it consisted of the top 10 from semifinals as well as Pudwill and Zered Bassett (the golden ticket winners from qualifying day), the real contest seemed to be between the aforementioned group. Each of those skaters had runs and tricks that could win a heavy contest on any given day. Sunday belonged to Busenitz though, no question about it.

Witnessing Busenitz during his last attempt in the finals (the 12 riders who make the finals are given three runs each) was surreal. He skated faster than anyone else the entire weekend with the possible exception of Mike Peterson. With each run, Busenitz changed up a few of his tricks and went full-speed, full-gusto at every obstacle. Falling more than once during his first two attempts, it was amazing to see him hang on in his last run and continue to do tricks even after his time was up. The entire crowd here in Tampa erupted in amazement and the results in his favor seemed like a foregone conclusion to all in attendance.

Altogether, this was yet another fantastic contest put on by SPoTlight Productions and the folks at the Skatepark of Tampa. Seems like they get better every year and the level of competition gets more and more intense. Outside of the competitive atmosphere on the course, the camaraderie of a skateboarding event put on by skaters for skaters makes Tampa Pro something unique and special for all of us in attendance. See you next year.

Our Pro Skate team shreds with the Sucihi Crew. Check it out to WIN a goodie bag...

The Sucihi boys as they are known were the lucky winners of a contest organized by Arnette Europe, where teams activated up to four participants, grabbed a videographer and set out to make the best skate section imaginable-which was then voted on by the public. Needless to say, the Sucihi boys were pretty solid and held their own when they met up with our seasoned skate vets and Arnette Family members Willy Santos, Pat Duffy, Danny Supa and newcoming young buck Ryan Decenzo. What follows below is all the action that took place and some pretty insane skating to say the least.

There are five sequences of Ryan Decenzo and the first four people to head over to our Facebook page and correctly name the tricks will be the lucky winners of an Arnette goodie bag. Enjoy the images from the day!

Well, this indeed was the very case yesterday for the winning IN YOUR FACE skate crew from Barcelona, Spain. The Sucihi boys as they are known were the lucky winners of a contest organized by Arnette Europe, where teams activated up to five participants, grabbed a videographer and set out to make the best skate section imaginable-which was then voted on by the public. If they were nervous, they did a damn fine job hiding it.

The Barcelona boys' eyes lit up with excitement when told they would be going to a private/secret skate spot, and have it all to themselves while skating with our top dawgs. I could go on and on about the level of skating that went down but we're saving that for our major post next week complete with sequences, video and all, but for now, please enjoy these few snippets of shredfulness.

Hallows Eve Bowl Bash recap Video

It was a perfect night to hold a skate competition, the sun was setting and the kids ready to rip. Just two nights before Halloween so we knew when we asked people to show up in costume our request would be granted. Is there anything more rad than watching a tiny little grom boost out of the bowl wearing a Spongebob outfit? I'm hard pressed to find something cooler, but, there was something better than the costumes. It was the technical level of skating that went down for our Hallows Eve Bowl Bash. Although Josh Sandoval took the Pro divison, Kiko Franciso definitely did not disappoint when he conquered the Groms and Lizze Armanto not only took the Girls division but turned heads when she stepped it up and competed in the Sponsored Pro as well. The night was truly amazing, and if you don't believe us then look no further than the video evidence below. Not to mention Danny Supa, Willy Santos and Pat Duffy showed up to be guest judges so everybody was skating extra hard trying to impress those hero's.

Big thanks to the City of Lake Forest, Etnies Skatepark and of course Slush Puppie for supplying insane slushies and free nachos with popcorn. I still have a tummy ache. Also, for an extended gallery visiit us on Facebook.

Pat Duffy may have not done the first handrail ever but damn if he didn't show the world the possibilities in his Plan B part in the video "Questionable" back in 1992. Nearly 20 years later Duffy still rips. He may not be the handrail dude anymore but unlike many a jaded older pro he can appreciate how the next generation is pushing things. Vox footwear was smart enough to see the value in the elder skatesman, recently signing him to a shoe deal with a pro model soon to follow. We caught up with Duffy to discuss Vox, the Plan B video and becoming an astronaut.
